Job Title: Night Shift Telemetry Nurse (PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown)
Position Overview: We are seeking dedicated and skilled telemetry nurses for night shift positions (18:45 - 07:15) in a high-acuity patient care unit. This role is crucial in monitoring and managing cardiac patients, ensuring exceptional care and support for those recovering from various cardiac procedures.
Key Responsibilities: - Provide direct patient care for individuals with congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, and post-cardiac catheterization.
- Monitor cardiac telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias with a keen understanding of remote monitoring.
- Administer and manage cardiac drips, including but not limited to Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Milrinone, and Dopamine.
- Conduct sheath pulls and manage TR Bands and Femstop procedures.
- Perform pre and post-operative care for patients undergoing cardiac interventions, including cardiac catheterizations and surgeries.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and treatment plans using Epic and other electronic communication systems.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams that may include physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy.
- Float to other units as necessary based on patient acuity and unit needs.
Qualifications: - Minimum of 2 years of experience in telemetry nursing with preferred charge experience.
- Current CPR, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
- Proven ability to manage complex patient needs in a stepdown or similar environment.
- Proficient in the interpretation of dysrhythmias and adept at using cardiac monitoring technology.
- Experience with blood product administration and central line care/management.
- Must pass EKG testing prior to commencement of the assignment.
Work Schedule: - 12-hour night shifts; full-time commitment with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 5-6 patients.
- Requirement to work 5-6 weekend shifts within the six-week schedule period.
- Travel healthcare professionals are expected to be flexible and ready to respond during catastrophic events or disasters.
Essential Skills: - Strong critical thinking skills and ability to provide effective patient care under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with a diverse healthcare team.
- Proficient in the use of electronic medical record systems, preferably Epic.
