Job Opportunity

Assist the driver in delivering customer orders; assist in loading and unloading products; or drive the pilot vehicle for large loads. You may deliver customer orders using a company van or delivery truck under a GVW of 10,000. The job is performed under the direction of the department supervisor or manager. No commercial drivers license is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist with loading and properly securing the product in the delivery vehicle using motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment.
2. Assist the driver in product deliveries and unloadings at the customers facility. With driver assistance, carry products (e.g., drywall, windows, doors, etc.) to a designated area at the customers location.
3. Deliver customer orders to their location using a company van or delivery truck. Obtain signed proof of delivery.
4. Drive the pilot vehicle for large loads, ensuring compliance with appropriate safety regulations.
5. Inspect and maintain delivery vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulatory requirements.
6. Plan and establish the pace of work efficiency to meet daily, weekly, project, or team-related productivity goals.
7. Understand and comply with all safety procedures to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attend periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures.
8. Other tasks may be assigned.

• Good verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to read and understand diagrams and schematics of different machinery and equipment systems
• Knowledge of escort service regulations
• Knowledge of basic math and measurement skills
• Knowledge and ability to use motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment
• Must have a valid drivers license

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or GED and one (1) year of experience performing similar tasks, or an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience. Requires a valid drivers license.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently travels in a truck to deliver products to customers. Works in all types of weather. The noise level in the work environment is normally moderate.
• Must be able to lift and transport up to 100 pounds frequently and occasionally may be required to lift and transport, with assistance, up to 200 pounds.
• May be required to perform specific tasks that involve climbing, lifting, pushing, or kneeling.
• Must be able to get in and out of the cab, be able to rotate the torso to achieve 360-degree visibility, use arms to operate controls, etc.
