Job Description
Rio Grande Service Center, the Southwest's premier pet food distributor, is looking for route delivery drivers for our Albuquerque, NM warehouse. Regional route driver responsible for driving a tractor-trailer (Kenworth T680 & 53’ dry van trailers with lift-gates and electric pallet jacks) to transport and deliver pet food and pet supplies to our retail partners. Current schedule: Driver departs Monday and returns Tuesday then departs Wednesday and returns Friday according to workload. Position is based in Albuquerque, NM. Delivery area currently includes New Mexico, Arizona and El Paso, TX. Great schedule! Off SATURDAY
and SUNDAY. Yes, you read correctly Weekends Off!!! This is a "touch freight" position,
meaning drivers load, unload, and move freight at customer locations including
taking product inside customer facilities and filling customer shelves.
Prolonged sitting, standing, and movement including pushing, pulling, walking,
climbing, kneeling, bending, and stooping. Frequent use of hands, arms, legs
and feet, handling and manipulating objects or controls. Must be able to
demonstrate ability to lift and/or move up to 55 pounds above your head. The
position has indoor and outdoor work environments (depending on assignment and
in all weather conditions). Applicants must consent to and pass a
pre-employment drug screen and meet all DOT physical and medical requirements.
Road test to demonstrate abilities will be required. Qualifications: High
School Diploma/GED, Class A Commercial Driver License, (2) years work-related
driving experience, good oral and written communication skills. Good
organizational skills and ability to prioritize work assignments and manage
time. Must be able to read, write, and speak English. The ideal candidate will
have experience in similar work situations and environments. If you are
