Kemper is seeking an Auto Desk Appraiser to work in the Van Nuys, CA area as a floater. You will investigate, evaluate, and appraise damaged automobiles and settle claims within an authorized dollar limit. In this role you are provided with a company vehicle. Responsibilities include participating in formal and on-the-job training, examining vehicle damage in the field or at service centers, following company photograph guidelines to document vehicle condition and damage, preparing accurate written appraisals, ensuring adherence to claims procedures, negotiating repair prices with repair facilities, maintaining a list of approved part suppliers, visiting repair shops to evaluate quality, negotiating settlements in a timely manner, and ensuring equitable payment of physical damage losses. Qualifications include a High School Diploma, 2+ years of experience in automobile appraising and/or Quality Control, strong customer service experience, good computer skills, planning and organizing skills, written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to effectively deal with conflict. Some positions may require bilingual skills. This is a remote position working in the Van Nuys, CA area as a floater.
