Job Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Reading of drawings/blueprints, production documentation, complete documentation, maintain high quality workmanship and organizational habits
- Preparation and inspection of components for assembly; cleaning, part verification and fit-checks, grit blasting
- Cutting, stripping, cleaning, inspection and handling of fiber optic cables in preparation for termination
- Terminations of Fiber Optic contacts involving various tools, epoxy procedures, crimping, handling and inspection
- Polishing techniques and methods for Fiber Optic contacts, polishing papers, sequence, handling, inspection
- Knowledge and completion of optical testing including proper use of test jumpers, insertion loss and return loss equipment and documenting measurements
- Oral/Written Communication - Listens and gets clarification; Responds well to questions; Records data
Education and Experience: - High School diploma, or equivalent
- Ability to apply common sense in performing job
- Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to use basic high school math skills
- 2-3 years complex cable assembly experience
Physical Demands: - Good coordination and flexibility in both hands
- Move and occasionally lift up to 50lbs. or more
- Good vision including passing color blindness test
Work Environment: Personal Protective Equipment: - Use of safety glasses
- Use of steel protective shoes or protective shoe covers
