Job Description Summary This position supports the student Notebook Computer Program initiative and faculty/staff devices. This encompasses prototyping, installation, configuration, upgrading, testing, maintenance, preparing technical documents, and troubleshooting the devices. Walk in support is provided in addition to addressing tickets submitted online. The Specialist works with Ringling College students, faculty and staff to assist in the troubleshooting of projects and workflows. The incumbent will also provide support in classroom locations on campus as needed. Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Management reserves the right to assign additional duties as required. Provides macOS, IOS, and Windows technical support to the campus community for notebook computers. Collaborates with the campus community to identify notebook hardware and software needs. Assists to review potential notebook computers, mobile devices, peripherals, and service level agreements. Supports inventory management, including receiving devices, tagging, logging into inventory, and auditing storage locations. Assists in designing Ringling College notebook program default configurations, imaging and update processes. Creates and configures current notebook computer and device configurations, software and other resource offerings on an ongoing basis. Optimizes notebook and tablet configurations and identifies opportunities for enhancements. Provides troubleshooting support to Ringling College students, faculty and staff devices, projects, and workflows. Resolves Ringling Notebook Computer Program technical issues in a timely manner. Maintains current knowledge of information technology trends and evaluates their applicability for Ringling College. Documents troubleshooting techniques for IT students and staff. Offers training on Ringling College Notebook Computer Program resources, processes, software and troubleshooting. Initiates, fosters and brings closure to technical support discussions and issues. Participates in crafting policies and procedures related to user support and notebook computers. Assists in researching and recommending hardware, software and networking products. Supports client level security in a networked environment. Prepares and maintains documentation as needed. Collaborates with and assists other Institutional Technology teams with projects related to user support and notebook computers. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Note: The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are representative but not exhaustive. Education And Experience Minimum High School diploma or equivalent Two years of relevant experience Preferred Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, or other computer related area including Ringling College majors. Experience with mobile device management (MDM) solutions, enterprise desktop remote assistance tools, imaging, remote application deployment and patch management.
