Reyes Fleet Management is hiring immediately for the role of a 1st shift Trailer Mechanic A for our site in Portage, IN. This role will primarily be responsible for handling repairs on new and refurbished trailers.

Shift:  Full-Time  l Monday-Friday 6:30AM-3:00PM

Pay: $28.00-$32.00/HR based on experience/qualifications

Position Responsibilities: 

• The Trailer Upfitting Mechanic/Technician is responsible for the refurbishment and remanufacturing of company fleet assets, diagnosing complex mechanical problems, and documenting work orders through the online AssetWorks system 
• As a Trailer Upfitting Mechanic/Technician, you will inspect, repair, and diagnose refrigeration and heating units, as well as hydraulic liftgate components 
• You will assess the structural integrity and body of the asset, repair and replace parts as needed, and perform the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) annual inspection certification 
• You will work in a safe manner and maintain a clean and organized work area 
• Other duties as assigned 

Required Education and Experience: 

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 3 plus years of related experience 
• Ability to frequently lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift 100 pounds
• Valid Driver’s License to operate applicable company vehicles
• Must possess own tools (have minimum tool requirement) 

Preferred Education and Experience: ? 

• Technical School Certification
