Job Description

Tax Accountant 

Our CPA firm, located in Austin, TX, is looking to add a Tax Accountant to our team. The Tax Accountant role offers an opportunity to gain invaluable knowledge and insight by working with our entire internal tax team and reporting directly to their manager.

The position can be 100% remote, but we offer the opportunity to have an office in our Austin location.

Job Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare tax returns (Individual, trusts, corporate, and partnership)
  • Make edits to tax returns based on the Tax Manager’s review notes
  • Work with clients to retrieve tax documents and data
  • Assisting with responses to IRS and state agency tax notices
  • Prepare payroll tax returns, form 1099’s, and sales tax returns on a limited basis
  • Attend weekly team meetings to review project status and goals
  • Review monthly bookkeeping
  • Manage workload and deadlines and communicate with the manager, actively prioritizing issues
  • Deliver the returns with all questions and issues resolved to the manager

  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, a passion for continuous growth, and a good sense of humor
  • Works well with confidential client matters
  • Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism
  • Ability to ask the right questions
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing

Qualifications :

  • Two years of Tax preparation experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • CPA/EA required
  • Quickbooks experience preferred

Salary and Benefits:

  • $65K - $90K (depending on experience)
