Surgery Scheduler- Edina- Fulltime

Monday-Friday

Primary Objective

Efficiently and effectively schedule patients for services provided by Minnesota Urology physicians. This position will serve as a liaison between physicians, patients, clinics, hospitals, and surgery centers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Schedule patients accurately and efficiently for any and all surgical procedures requested by Minnesota Urology physicians.
• Inform patients regarding special diets, prep instructions, general insurance/referral information, arrival times, dates, locations, etc.
• Ability to organize work for efficiency and problem solve as related to surgery scheduling and its impact on physicians and clinic.
• Keeping up-to-date on all insurance requirements and following all guidelines requested.
• Document scheduled surgeries in NextGen/UroChart as appropriate.
• Ensure patients have necessary pre-certifications, prior authorization and/or referrals.
• Reschedule and cancel surgery and post-op appointments in a way which minimizes any inconveniences to the patient, including notification to the correct hospital or surgery center.
• Maintain effective and accurate daily physician surgery schedules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED
• Minimum of one year of surgery scheduling experience.
• Medical terminology knowledge required.
• Experience with insurances preferred.
• Experience or knowledge of current EMR systems preferred but will train.

Other factors we consider in setting the specific pay for an individual will generally include, among other things, experience, specialized skills, work location, and internal equity to provide competitive offers. The range stated below is a starting point of the compensation conversation, we'd like to hear what your compensation expectations are too!

With a minimum starting pay of $22.00 per hour up to $27.50 per hour based on direct appointment scheduling experience in healthcare, you'll be rewarded for your hard work and dedication.
