The Starbucks, located at the beautiful Read House Hotel, is seeking a full-time Lead Barista to use their dynamic and professional barista expertise to oversee the shift operations of the store!

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

As a Lead Barista, you will ensure The Read House Starbucks establishment meets Starbucks standards as well as The Read House processes and procedures. You will lead by example and supervise the daily shift operations of the outlet, promote cooperation among the staff, and maintain high service and sanitation standards.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure high levels of guest satisfaction utilizing both company and Starbucks standards
  • Provide a warm and engaging first impression for all guests and show courteous, attentive, and efficient service
  • Support and assist in the daily shift operations of the outlet; assign and coordinate work of staff to promote efficiency of operations
  • Act as the service role model by setting a good example of excellent customer service and creating a positive atmosphere
  • Ensure staff members are in compliance with both company and Starbucks appearance standards
  • Know all menu items and ingredients and prepare all orders consistently
  • Take, prepare, and serve all food items and drink orders to Starbucks standards with efficiency and friendliness
  • Collect payment from guests, issue receipts and change; abide by all cash handling procedures
  • Maintain the daily operations of the café through the execution of daily side work, including usage of Starbucks "clean play" responsibilities
  • Perform general cleaning duties such as sweeping and mopping floors; wiping counters, tables, and chairs; breaking down packaging and boxes, disposal of garbage to the dumpster, etc.
  • Abide by all company and state guidelines regarding safe food handling; ensure compliance with all food and beverage policies, standards, and procedures by staff
  • Inspect food prep area and kitchen utensils and equipment to ensure sanitary standards are met
  • Requisition and inspect food, supplies, and equipment to maintain stock levels and ensure standards of quality are met
  • Maintain regular and punctual on-site attendance with the ability to work a flexible schedule which may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays when business requires

Job Requirements

Education/ Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • One to two years prior food and beverage supervisory or management experience required
  • Prior hotel food and beverage and/or coffee outlet experience preferred
  • At least 1 year of Starbucks Barista experience required
  • At least 6 months of Starbucks Lead Barista experience preferred

Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills with guests, team members, and management
  • Proficiency in restaurant POS, reservation, and/or inventory applications
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Ability to work efficiently with strong attention to detail
  • Promote cooperation to work among team members and others

Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move up to 50 pounds
  • Position self in order to obtain necessary supplies and efficiently clean assigned areas
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a high-demand, fast-paced environment with changing variables

Work Environment:

  • The work environment includes high guest contact; may involve varying conditions and circumstances with guests, staff, visitors, etc.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
  • This position requires the ability to work in temperatures of varying degrees
