Spec Writer | Architecture

You turn design ideas into precise technical language that drives exceptional buildings. As an Architectural Specification Writer, you’ll collaborate closely with design teams to craft accurate, coordinated, and code-compliant specifications that bring creativity and quality together.

What You’ll Do:

• Write, edit, and manage architectural specifications for architecture projects, aligning them with design intent and project requirements.
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, and contractors to ensure consistency across drawings and specs.
• Maintain and refine the master specification standards using CSI formats.
• Conduct quality control reviews of project manuals and construction documentation for clarity and accuracy.
• Research emerging materials, assemblies, and sustainable building practices for integration into future projects.
• Participate in design and coordination meetings to anticipate technical challenges early.
• Support internal teams in interpreting spec-related issues during design and construction phases.

What We’re Looking For:

• A degree in Architecture or a related field.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in writing or managing architectural specifications.
• Working knowledge of building systems, materials, and codes.
• Proficiency in MasterSpec, SpecLink, or similar platforms.
• Ability to combine precision with collaboration, balancing deadlines, quality, and team coordination.
• CSI CCS certification, LEED credential, or architectural license preferred but not required.
