Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – HVAC (PE Preferred)

📍 Location: Tacoma, WA (Onsite – local candidates or relocation required)

💰 Salary: $150,000 – $165,000 + vehicle allowance & bonus potential

What You’ll Own

• Lead HVAC system design for commercial and industrial projects from concept through construction
• Serve as a technical authority supporting Sales, Project Managers, and field teams
• Perform and oversee load calculations, system sizing, layouts, and equipment selection
• Review designs for constructability, code compliance, and performance
• Develop and review construction-ready drawings and specifications
• Support permitting, commissioning, and closeout documentation
• Conduct site visits to validate conditions and support installation
• Manage multiple projects with shifting priorities and tight timelines

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 7+ years of HVAC design experience in commercial and/or industrial environments
• Deep knowledge of HVAC systems, codes, and regulations
• Proven ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and performance requirements
• Strong CAD experience; Revit experience strongly preferred
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to guide teams and influence outcomes

Strongly Preferred

• Professional Engineer (PE) license (or ability to obtain)
• Experience mentoring junior engineers or reviewing designs
• Plumbing design experience
