Job Description

Content Marketing Writer 

We are seeking a skilled and dynamic content marketing writer to join our team as a contractor. The ideal candidate will be a creative and strategic thinker who thrives in developing engaging, data-driven content focused on education-related topics for a U.S.-based audience. This is an online, remote contract role. Work will be paid hourly. Project Description This role involves conducting thorough research on assigned topics, editing published articles, as well as outlining/writing new articles. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple content writing assignments simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Tasks may include:

  • Researching and writing about education-related topics for a US-based audience 
  • Finding compelling hooks/angles for content 
  • Creating outlines for articles based on research and/or a content brief 
  • Analyzing data and generating insights to develop data-driven content 
  • Crafting surveys and interview questions to get data or expert input 
  • Creating infographics and visualizations to aid in viewer engagement 
  • Following education news to identify trending story ideas
  • Writing SEO-optimized articles

Required Skills:

  • Must be able to work at least 4 hours overlap with Pacific Standard Time
  • Minimum 3-5 years developing marketing content for link building
  • At least 3 years of copyediting experience
  • Excellent written and spoken English language skills
  • Demonstrated success researching and publishing content that drives links
  • SEO-optimization content creation skills, including competitor analysis, strategic use of keywords, headers, and metadata

Additional Preferred Skills:

  • Prior work experience in a remote setting
  • Familiarity with supportive tools like Ahrefs, SEMRush, Muckrack, and Canva
