About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced QA Tester who’s passionate about ensuring product quality in fast-moving environments where AI meets science. You’ll work closely with our engineering, product, and science teams to design and execute test plans for new features, data pipelines, and AI-driven workflows.

This role requires hands-on testing expertise and a strong understanding of how to validate systems that rely on large language models (LLMs) and life science data.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and execute manual test plans , test cases, and regression suites across Collate’s web and AI-based workflows
• Collaborate with engineers and product managers to identify bugs early and ensure high-quality product releases
• Test AI-driven outputs — evaluating model accuracy, edge cases, and failure points
• Validate integrations between data systems, APIs, and AI components
• Maintain documentation of testing results and participate in QA process improvements
• (Nice to have) Design and run automated tests using frameworks like Cypress, Playwright, or similar
• Partner with the science team to understand and validate workflows related to experimental data and life sciences  
• Cross collaborate with Product, UX, Operations, Software teams

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in software QA (manual testing required; automation a plus)
• Experience testing AI- or ML-driven systems (familiarity with model evaluation, hallucination, or prompt consistency)
• Background or exposure to life sciences, biotech, or healthcare applications
• Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
• Experience working in startup or fast-paced product environments
• Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills

The base salary range for this role is competitive, depending on experience and level (Tier 1, San Francisco)
