Project Manager – Civil Site Development - 627603
Location: Charlotte, NC (Relocation Assistance Available)
Overview
We are seeking a Civil Site Development Project Manager with a solid background in civil site design and infrastructure projects involving water, sewer, and storm drainage systems. This role requires managing multiple client-facing projects while ensuring they stay on schedule, within scope, and on budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage one or more site development projects for a diverse set of clients
- Prepare proposals and develop project fee structures
- Conduct site visits to client offices, job sites, and consultant locations to support ongoing projects and business development initiatives
- Track and manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets
- Coordinate engineering work and interface with other technical disciplines as needed
- Define and document project scope of work
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among teams and stakeholders
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technical staff as applicable
- Monitor project performance using Vision and Microsoft Project (intermediate to advanced proficiency preferred)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in civil site design for both public and private sector projects
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and the ability to apply advanced practices across a range of project scopes
- Experience managing large projects or multiple projects with complex deliverables
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proven leadership and business development abilities
- Solid understanding of project financials and business metrics
Additional Information
- Consulting experience is required – candidates must have worked in a consulting environment rather than exclusively in municipal or government roles
- Prior hands-on design experience is strongly preferred to align with project demands
- Candidates with 3–6 years of experience may be considered if their background and skillset closely match project requirements
- Relocation assistance is available for candidates moving to the Charlotte, NC area
