Job Description

About the Company

A growing, fast-paced real estate investment and development firm specializing in commercial assets and renewable energy projects. The team is lean, collaborative, and execution-driven, working hands-on across complex, high-volume transactions.

Position Overview

The company is seeking an experienced Commercial Real Estate Paralegal to independently manage due diligence, support asset acquisitions, and coordinate closings across multiple transactions. This is a highly autonomous role suited for a proactive, detail-oriented professional who can take full ownership of the closing process and operate with limited oversight.

You will partner closely with the Closing Lead and work alongside legal, acquisitions, and cross-functional teams on ongoing land and asset purchases.

Key Responsibilities

Transaction & Closing Management

  • Lead and coordinate all aspects of due diligence and closing processes for commercial real estate and renewable energy transactions.
  • Prepare, review, and manage closing deliverables, checklists, and documentation.
  • Draft, review, and organize transaction documents prior to attorney review.

Document & Legal Support

  • Review surveys, title commitments, title policies, easements, ALTA documents, and related real estate materials.
  • Prepare summaries, identify issues or discrepancies, and escalate findings to attorneys or the Closing Lead.
  • Manage signatures, notarizations, paperwork, and document routing.
  • Maintain organized, accurate closing files and document retention systems.

Independent Workflow Management

  • Operate with autonomy and take initiative to move transactions forward.
  • Proactively identify gaps, anticipate needs, and propose solutions to keep deals on schedule.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Collaborate daily with legal, land acquisition, finance, and operations teams.
  • Liaise with title companies, outside counsel, surveyors, utility reps, and third-party stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Required Experience

  • 7–10+ years total professional experience, including 3–4+ years in commercial real estate, land, or renewable energy transactions.
  • Background in one or more of the following:
  • Commercial real estate law firm
  • Renewable energy developer (legal or land department)
  • Title company (Stewart Title or comparable major provider)

Required Skills & Attributes

  • Strong understanding of real estate due diligence and closing processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized, meticulous, and able to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working with attorneys, title officers, and external parties.

Work Environment

  • Full-time, in-office role due to the hands-on nature of documents and closings.
  • Occasional ad-hoc flexibility available for personal appointments or short-term remote needs.
  • Not a hybrid or remote position.
