e&e is seeking a Microsoft Cloud Engineer for a hybrid contract opportunity in Harrisburg, PA!

The Microsoft Cloud Engineer plays a key role in designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise Microsoft 365 cloud solutions. This includes Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Entra ID, Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Defender, and Intune platforms. The role supports architectural design, migrations, administration, automation, and security configurations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in complex cloud migrations, PowerShell scripting, and advanced security policy implementations, with the ability to troubleshoot and manage modern cloud-based environments under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and configure Microsoft 365 tenant and components.
• Migrate email, calendar, and collaboration tools to M365.
• Apply security hardening and implement configuration best practices.
• Develop and deploy security policies via Microsoft 365 Security Center.
• Troubleshoot complex M365 issues across multiple services.
• Create technical documentation: design specs, SOPs, and diagrams.
• Automate administration tasks via advanced PowerShell scripting.
• Maintain email and collaboration systems and user/mailbox administration.
• Assist with endpoint image deployment and management solutions.
• Participate in business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Microsoft ecosystem (AD, Azure, SCCM, etc.).
• Communicate outages and resolutions to stakeholders and management.
• Ensure compliance with security and privacy standards, including NIST.

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5–10 years of relevant IT/cloud administration experience.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Technical Skills:

• Microsoft 365 migrations and administration (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
• Strong PowerShell scripting experience.
• Advanced SQL database knowledge.
• Familiarity with ADFS, Entra ID, and Microsoft authentication mechanisms.
• Proficiency in multi-platform environments and scripting languages.

Preferred Experience:

• Microsoft Purview and Defender platform (e.g., MFA, DLP, eDiscovery, Defender for Endpoint/Identity).
• Experience with data migrations to SharePoint Online from legacy systems.
• Administration of Windows, Mac, and iOS endpoints via Intune and MECM.

Soft Skills:

• Strategic thinking and analytical problem-solving.
• Effective communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple complex tasks efficiently.
