ABOUT INDIANA REPERTORY THEATRE
The Indiana Repertory Theatre (IRT), founded in 1972, is the only theatre in Indiana belonging to the League of Resident Theatres (LORT). It produces six annual productions across two stages—the OneAmerica Financial Stage and the Janet Allen Stage—for diverse audiences. The repertoire ranges from world premieres to classics, serving multiple generations including students from elementary through high school. With a substantial endowment, IRT is financially stable and committed to creating art for the Indianapolis community. In recent years, IRT has focused on diversifying its staff and board, including ongoing anti-racist training.

POSITION PURPOSE IRT seeks an experienced Marketing Communications Manager to support the Marketing Department in executing the organization’s marketing plan, enhancing communication, marketing, and promotional efforts.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Assist with creating and distributing marketing campaigns for the season, including ticket promotions and collateral.
Manage season campaign plans for digital and print materials.
Serve as the content storyteller for press releases, e-news, social media, blogs, radio, and other channels.
Manage WordFly email marketing platform, oversee copy and content review for various communications.
Collaborate on social media content and calendar, including videos, segmentation, and revenue tracking.
Handle media relations, press events, interviews, ticket arrangements, and story pitching.
Edit and update the IRT website using WordPress.
Support brand growth and patron engagement through events, community activities, and partnerships.
Conduct market research to identify trends and best practices.
Engage with media, donors, business, and civic leaders to promote IRT.
Foster partnerships with community organizations and media outlets.
Work closely with the Marketing team to support organizational goals.
OTHER FUNCTIONS Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Marketing & Sales.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in marketing, PR, arts administration, journalism, business, or related field.
3-5 years in a marketing communications role.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Strong understanding of digital marketing, memberships, sales, and promotions.
Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
Team player with ability to work independently.
Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in social media, website management, email platforms, and analytics tools.
Video creation/editing skills a plus.
Collaborative skills across various stakeholders.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, WordFly, WordPress, Google tools, Meta, YouTube, LinkedIn, Tessitura.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS Constant use of computers and office machinery.
Lift up to 30 pounds.
