MAINTENANCE MECHANIC 2nd Shift (2pm - 10:30pm) Training will be on 1st Shift (6:30am - 3pm) for approximately 6 months. The Maintenance Mechanic performs all-around maintenance work on a variety of systems and pieces of equipment to ensure proper operating functions of machinery. The successful candidates will have an acceptable score on the maintenance questionnaire. DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES: \n Ability to provide maintenance and repair on several types of building systems such as pipefitting, basic electrical, HVAC, etc. \n Ability to repair machines and equipment involving parts replacement and trouble shooting. \n Perform preventive maintenance on all assigned equipment. \n Maintain company property to include work on buildings and grounds including snow removal. \n Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations. \n Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned. \n \n QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: \n Preferred education level: a high school diploma and/or GED. It is desirable for the employee to possess additional specific related training. \n Preferred experience level: Two years' experience in the manufacturing/chemical industry. \n Excellent communication skills \n Computer experience is strongly preferred. \n Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals. \n Ability to receive and provide instructions in a positive manner. \n Ability to operate a forklift with forklift driving certification is strongly preferred and the ability to use a pallet jack. \n Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task. \n Basic math skills and the ability to convert various measurements are required. \n The ability to use the following tools preferred: grind plate, calculator, computer, pipe wrench, large and small scrapers, Allen wrench, box knife, bung wrench, manual drum truck, cowels, sand mill, air mixer, screwdriver, and pliers. \n \n WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk and/or hear, stand, and/or walk, use hands to finger, handle or touch objects or controls, and move from place to place. The employee is regularly required to sit, balance, stoop, and occasionally reach above shoulders. The employee occasionally must use foot/feet to operate machinery, climb, or balance and reach above the shoulders. The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 65 lbs. and occasionally up to 100lbs. Personal Protection Equipment is required during various processes in the production facility.
