Position Summary


The Loader Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of large wheel loaders (8-10 yard) to support aggregate production, stockpile management, plant feeding, and loading operations on heavy highway construction projects.


Key Responsibilities

• Operate 8-10 yard wheel loaders safely and efficiently.
• Load crushers, hoppers, trucks, and conveyors with various aggregate materials.
• Manage stockpiles to maintain material quality, segregation control, and safe access.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance.
• Communicate with plant operators, truck drivers, and supervisors to maintain production flow.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with company safety policies.
• Follow DOT, MSHA/OSHA, and site-specific safety requirements.
• Assist with cleanup, site maintenance, and other duties as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience operating large wheel loaders (8-10 yard preferred).
• Strong understanding of safe loading practices and equipment limitations.
• Experience in aggregate, quarry, or heavy highway construction environments.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, production-driven setting.
• Valid driver's license; CDL preferred but not required.

Work Environment

• Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
• Long hours during peak construction season, including nights or weekends.
• Exposure to dust, noise, and heavy equipment.
