Teammate will represent Truist in litigated matters involving mortgage servicing. Teammate will prepare for and appear at trials, hearings, and depositions. Teammate will validate and sign discovery and affidavits. Solid legal background required. Mortgage experience preferred. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include preparing for and attending assigned trials, hearings and depositions; validating and signing discovery and affidavits, working with counsel to revise as required; making travel arrangements and managing expenses in compliance with Truist policy; staying current on knowledge of relevant state laws and individual judicial requirements; staying current on processes and procedures that support the entries to the Truist system of record; staying current on knowledge of relevant investor requirements and delegations; identifying and communicating adverse issues, trends or inefficiencies to senior management and other lines of business; building and maintaining relationships with internal and external business partners, managing expectations and accountability, including internal and external legal counsel; and performing all other duties as assigned. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree OR comparable training in Mortgage, Finance, or strongly related Industry; three years of exposure to default, mortgage servicing or strongly related field; exceptional oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal, time management and organizational skills; ability to work in a constantly changing and fast-paced environment; high ability to operate independently; strong ability to synthesize/analyze newly presented information in real time. Preferred qualifications include experience or training in the legal industry and experience with MSP. Other job requirements include ability to sit frequently, stand and walk occasionally, visual/audio/speaking abilities, manual dexterity/keyboarding, availability to work all scheduled hours including overtime, and travel up to 75%.
