E&I Controls Technician

Apex Systems is currently looking for an Electrical Instrumentation and Controls Technician to support our Oil and Gas client.

Location: Beaumont, TX

Contract Length: 12+ Month Contract with potential for extension

Pay: 40/HR-55/HR, Based on Experience

Responsibilities:

• Dismantles/troubleshoots instrument equipment and replace defective instrumentation, programmable parts or mechanical parts
• Items include pressure, temperature, time of flight, speed, level (including nuclear, capacitive, ultrasonic)
• Read, interpret, and advise Tristation and Allen Bradly logic based upon controls and cause and effect matrix.
• Identity and explain machinery dynamics related instruments - vibration, TTV, governor control, surge control, equipment health monitoring, etc.
• Installs and monitors performance of installed instrumentation equipment for hazards, adjustments, or replacements
• Interprets drawings, specification/data sheet, P&ID's, schematics, loop drawings and performs work by these or verbal instructions
• Repairs, installs, replaces, and tests instrumentation circuits, equipment, and appliances using appropriate tools and testing instruments
• Troubleshoots and repairs electric controls and programmable logic controls
• Performs preventive maintenance on Safety Instrument Systems and Controls.
• Installs and inspects various types of tubing installations

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of E&I/Controls related experience
• Oil and Gas experience
• Allen Bradley or Tristation HEAVILY preferred
• PLC Programming/Ladder Logic
• Instrumentation troubleshooting experience
