This position is available only to enrolled American University students.

Gallery Assistants will be responsible for monitoring the galleries during all open hours including, public and private events. Gallery Assistants provide general information to the public regarding museum programs and exhibitions, oversee the technology for each exhibition, and assist with event management. Gallery Assistants may also be required to assist the museum staff in a variety of administrative and exhibition related responsibilities.

Essential Functions:

• Provide general information to the public.
• Oversee technology for exhibitions.
• Event management assistance.
• Handle administrative responsibilities.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

• Part-time.
• 7 - 20 hours per week.

Salary Range:

• $17.95 per hour.

Required Education and Experience:

• This position requires a strong customer service ability.
• Must be able to work with the public in a professional manner.
• Appropriate attire is mandatory when working.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

• Museum Hours are 11 am to 4 pm, Wednesday through Sunday.
• Gallery attendants will also be offered extra hours working events during the evening and on weekends.
