The Administration for Childrens Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services and provides subsidized child care vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child juvenile justice ACS oversees detention placement and programs for youth in the community. OEEO is currently seeking to hire an EEO Attorney Investigator that will report to the EEO Supervising Attorney Investigator and who is particularly interested in diversity equity and inclusion in the workplace. The EEO Attorney Investigator will be responsible for investigating EEO violations in the ACS workplace. The EEO Attorney Investigator will be knowledgeable about laws and policies relevant to Equal Employment Practices such as: - Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008 (GINA)- The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA)- Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 (ADEA)- Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964- Equal Pay Act of 1963 (EPA)- The City of New Yorks 2021 Equal Employment Opportunity Policy - The NYS Human Rights Law and the NYC Human Rights Law The EEO Attorney Investigators duties will include but not limited to: - Interview parties and witnesses in relation to EEO Inquiry/Complaint submissions. - Request and review relevant documents and evidence. - Analyze allegations and facts within the framework of applicable anti-discrimination laws and the Citys EEO Policy. - Make recommendations related to investigations. - Draft investigative reports. - Conduct individual and group EEO trainings. - Assist in monitoring ensuring compliance with deadlines. - Prepare reports and perform other functions as needed. 1. Admission to the New York State Bar; and either 2 or 3 below.
2. One year of satisfactory United States legal experience subsequent to admission to any state bar; or
3. Six months of satisfactory service as an Agency Attorney Interne (30086).
Incumbents must remain Members of the New York State Bar in good standing for the duration of this employment.
In addition to meeting the minimum Qualification Requirements:
To be assigned to Assignment Level (AL) II candidates must have one year of experience at Assignment Level I or two years of comparable legal experience subsequent to admission to the bar in the areas of law related to the assignment. To be assigned to AL III candidates must have two years of experience in Assignment Levels I and/or II or three years of comparable legal experience subsequent to admission to the bar in the areas of law related to the assignment.
