Director of Nursing – Post Care Cardiac and Stroke

Location: Harlingen, Texas

Salary: Up to $139,000 (Relocation Assistance Available)

Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a highly qualified Director of Nursing to lead post-care cardiac and stroke services at a large, well-established hospital in Harlingen, Texas . Position Overview:

Reporting directly to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), the Director of Nursing will provide strategic, operational, and clinical oversight for assigned patient care areas. This role is accountable for 24/7 leadership of nursing and patient care delivery within post-cardiac and stroke units , ensuring high-quality care, regulatory compliance, and continuous staff development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership: Partner with executive and clinical leaders to develop and execute nursing strategies that align with hospital goals.
• Clinical Oversight: Ensure that nursing practices are aligned with evidence-based standards and regulatory requirements in post-care cardiac and stroke units.
• Staff Development: Build a culture of learning, excellence, and accountability by mentoring and developing clinical teams.
• Operational Management: Manage clinical operations, including staffing models, resource allocation, and budgeting to support high-quality patient care.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Associate degree in nursing with a bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field, or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Master’s degree (MSN or healthcare-related field) preferred

Experience:

• At least 2 years of progressive leadership experience in a hospital setting as a nurse manager or full-time charge nurse

Licensure & Certifications:

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas, or ability to obtain
• American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications required
