Description The position works to check and maintain grammar and diction in all articles before publishing. Duties Use the AP Manual of Style to produce and implement standards for headlines, abbreviations, punctuation, etc., which shall be applied to Criterion articles. Review articles and/or assign to Section Editors articles before publication. Work on fixed content deadlines, after which content will be reviewed by Editor-in-Chief before publication. Oversee and communicate with Section Editors. Stipulations Must be a registered La Sierra Student Must complete Student Authorization Form with Silvia Stenner (Office of Student Life) Must have worked as a Criterion Section Editor for at least one quarter. Expectations Editors are not to exceed more than eight hours clocked in per-pay period (2-week pay period) Applying for Criterion Complete HR standard application Upload documents, resume, and writing sample required (cover letter and any other materials are optional). Please note that writing samples should follow these guidelines: It should be a non-creative piece. Something written for a class is preferable. It should be roughly 2-3 pages. It can not be something that was written for Criterion with the editorial help of the Criterion staff. Please note Even if you have worked as a Section Editor before, you must reapply here.
