Job Description: Concrete Finisher

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Concrete Finisher to join our team. The Concrete Finisher will be responsible for smoothing, leveling, and finishing freshly poured concrete to ensure quality and durability for various construction projects. This role requires technical expertise, physical stamina, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Duties:

• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Finishing concrete floors, sidewalks, curb and gutter, and other flatwork.
• Prepare work areas by cleaning and setting forms or molds to shape the concrete.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure the proper mixing and pouring of concrete to project specifications.
• Use hand and power tools, such as trowels, floats, screeds, and edgers, to smooth and level concrete surfaces.
• Apply finishing techniques to create textures or patterns as required by project plans (e.g., broom finishes, stamped patterns).
• Patch and repair damaged concrete surfaces using appropriate tools and materials.
• Inspect finished work to ensure it meets specifications, measurements, and safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with other construction team members to ensure project timelines and goals are met.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma preferred but not required and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Reliable transportation.
• Proven experience as a Concrete Finisher for at least 1-2 years.
• Proficiency in using concrete finishing tools and equipment.
• Strong knowledge of concrete mixing, pouring, curing, and finishing techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
• Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
• Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform repetitive tasks.
• Extended periods of standing, bending, and lifting .
• Work in various weather conditions.

Work Environment

• May require overtime, weekend work, and out-of-town travel based on project schedules.
