Apex Systems is looking to hire an  ONSITE Buyer for our client based out of Greensboro, NC.

This assignment is anticipated to be a ­­6 month contract with strong potential for extension; however, Apex Systems cannot guarantee the length of this assignment.

This will also have a first shift Monday-Friday schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, negotiate, and implement strategies to enhance supply chain performance, improve product quality, introduce innovative technology, and maximize value.
• Lead negotiations and finalize agreements with suppliers within your area of responsibility.
• Contribute to the business plan for your segment and actively participate in the global network of Buyers.
• Collaborate with global supply chain members to develop and execute supply chain and technology strategies.
• Drive activities to achieve targets related to Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability, and Risk Management (QDCFTSR).
• Forecast cost trends for your area of responsibility.
• Manage and negotiate changes to products and processes during and after the production phase.
• Perform daily purchasing activities related to production orders, logistics, and financial transactions with suppliers.

Experience:

• 5+ years of strategic purchasing (e.g. end-to-end supplier relationship management, sourcing, negotiations, contracts) experience
• Proven negotiation and communication skills
• Strong business acumen, agile in way of working
• Desire to work in a collaborative team towards a common purpose
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent working experience
